Could your child benefit from extra support with their reading and writing?

We have a small number of free places available for children who are eligible for Free School Meals and attend school in Haringey. We’d love to welcome your child aboard as a Young Pirate!

At The Literacy Pirates, we take children on voyages as readers and writers. Our after-school programme helps children aged 9-13, who are falling behind at school, to develop their literacy, confidence and perseverance.

During weekly, after-school sessions throughout the summer term, your child will take part in fun and challenging reading and writing activities with qualified teachers and trained volunteers.

At the end of the term, we publish the writing of all Young Pirates, which means your child will come out of the programme a published author!

“I’m proud of everything that I’ve done! These are things I’ve never dreamt of doing. I didn’t think I would be a real author, especially at this age. I’m very excited about what is to come at The Literacy Pirates.”
